Silver Spring resident Scott Brigden, 52, has been arrested and will face criminal charges after allegedly breaking into several mailboxes and stealing multiple pieces of mail and packages, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

In late June, officers were called to the 1130 block of University Boulevard West to investigate a report of vandalism and theft from the Warwick Towers Apartments.

During the investigation, Brigden was identified as a suspect who allegedly broke into several mailboxes and stole items from the package room inside the building.

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, the department announced that Brigden had been arrested and he was charged with multiple counts of destruction of property and theft.

He was released on an unsecured bond pending his next court appearance.
